1. Agreement to these Terms
These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of livdub, including our website, Chrome extension, public APIs, and related services. By using livdub, you agree to these Terms. If you use livdub for an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization, and "you" includes that organization.
If you do not agree, do not use livdub. We may update these Terms prospectively from time to time. If an update materially affects your rights or obligations, we will provide reasonable notice when required, such as by posting a notice on the website, and for Plus by email to the verified address when required. Website posting is sufficient; email to Plus is extra, not a condition of the change. The updated version is effective on the date shown at the top of the Terms unless it states a later date. Changes do not apply retroactively to disputes arising before that effective date. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms. A Livdub charge applies only when you choose a paid offering and agree to its purchase terms.
2. The Service
livdub offers bring-your-own-key (BYOK) live dubbing. Early Free includes 90 active-translation minutes per UTC day and Regular Free includes 45, each with one five-minute daily grace period. Android Free includes 90 active-translation minutes per UTC day as three 30-minute packs, with no grace period. The first pack is included; the other two unlock with rewarded ads. Quotas reset at 00:00 UTC. Only time while Gemini translation is active counts; paused or silent waiting states do not. Free users do not need an account.
Plus includes unlimited dubbing, translated or bilingual captions, caption styling, MP3 recording, and VTT export. Plus requires a Google-authenticated account, supports two registered devices, and permits one concurrent dubbing session. A Gemini API key is still required and live audio continues to go directly from the extension to Gemini.
Sessions require an online Livdub lease. An active session checks in about every five active minutes and a signed capability expires after at most ten minutes without a successful check-in. Revocation, payment failure, or a concurrency violation may stop a session. Network failure may continue only until the signed deadline. We may apply immediate controls for security, abuse prevention, legal compliance, third-party availability, or reliability.
The product is extension-first. You choose an active Chrome tab; the extension captures that tab's audio on your device; audio streams from the extension to Google Gemini Live Translate using your Gemini API key; dubbed audio plays back in near real time. livdub servers do not sit on the live translation path and do not relay tab audio for dubbing.
Live dubbing of ordinary third-party websites is ephemeral by design. livdub does not create a shared replay library, reusable dubbed catalog, or translation cache for arbitrary captured tab audio. livdub is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Google. Google and Gemini are trademarks of Google LLC.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction, to use livdub. If you are under the age of majority, you may use livdub only with permission from a parent or legal guardian.
No Livdub account is required for Free. Plus uses Google authentication with only the email scope. You authorize Google to provide Livdub its stable account identifier and verified email when you connect or sign in. You are responsible for your devices, Google account access, Gemini API key and Google relationship, and all activity under your account. Plus supports two registered devices. Signing in on a third device replaces the least-recently used of the two existing devices. You can also revoke a device from the account dashboard.
4. Chrome Extension Permissions
The extension needs browser permissions to capture audio from the active tab when you start a dub, run an offscreen document for capture, Gemini Live Translate, and playback, store local preferences (including your Gemini API key), and communicate with livdub for anonymous usage sharing and public stats, device authentication, quota enforcement, Google account access and billing. You control when a live dubbing session starts and stops.
You must not use the extension to capture content when doing so violates law, platform rules, contractual restrictions, or the rights of others.
5. Anonymous Usage Sharing
After eligible dubbing sessions end (generally at least five seconds), the extension may send anonymous usage rollups to livdub. These rollups are kept separate from Livdub accounts and billing. Quota systems separately process device and active-time totals without storing browsing or translation content.
Events include target language, session length, and UTC timing. With More detail, events also include the website registrable domain (for example, youtube.com). With Less detail, the domain is omitted. Usage events do not include your Gemini API key, audio, page titles, or full URLs. You can change Less / More detail in the extension Usage stats page. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
6. Tab Content You Choose to Dub
You retain any rights you already have in the audio and other material playing in a tab you choose to dub. livdub is not a place to post, upload, or host a media library. Live dubbing captures tab audio on your device and sends it to Gemini under your API key so the extension can play a dubbed track. livdub does not host or permanently store that arbitrary-site audio for reuse.
You grant livdub a limited license to process anonymous usage events and other information only as needed to operate the website, public stats, and related service features described in the Privacy Policy.
You are solely responsible for ensuring that you have the rights and permissions needed to capture and dub the tab you choose. livdub does not grant you rights to third-party audio, video, captions, scripts, trademarks, or other materials.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- use livdub in a way that violates law or third-party rights;
- copy, redistribute, sell, or publicly perform third-party content without permission;
- use livdub to create persistent dubbed copies of arbitrary websites or live streams;
- reverse engineer, scrape, overload, probe, or interfere with the website, APIs, or extension;
- bypass security controls;
- use the extension, website, or APIs to attack, disrupt, or harm systems or people;
- misrepresent your rights, ownership, affiliation, or authorization to dub a tab;
- use dubbed outputs to deceive people about a speaker's identity, consent, or statements;
- use livdub for high-risk decisions, emergency services, or regulated professional advice.
8. Fees and Third-Party Costs
Current Plus pricing and the applicable billing period are shown before purchase. A device may qualify for Early Free and a discounted founding-user rate when its legacy installation identifier has a qualifying usage record from before the monetization-version cutoff and Livdub displays that eligibility. The discounted rate must be claimed before the deadline shown in the extension. Founding eligibility is device-bound and normally survives extension updates, but not uninstalling Livdub or clearing the device key. A founding-rate claim is limited to one qualifying device and one Google-authenticated account.
Stripe subscriptions renew automatically at the rate and interval disclosed at checkout until canceled. Monthly and annual plans are available. Checkout from the Chrome extension, the landing page, or /plus may include a card-required free trial of the length shown there; the card is charged the disclosed plan price when the trial ends unless you cancel first. Checkout from the signed-in account page charges immediately and may accept a promotion code. A 100% promotion code on that account-page checkout can skip collecting a card. A continuously subscribed founding plan renews at its discounted founding-user rate. Cancellation forfeits that rate for a later subscription. Access continues through a paid cancellation period. A failed renewal cancels the subscription immediately, Plus ends, and a later subscription is at the regular rate. You can cancel through the Stripe billing portal.
Listed prices are tax-exclusive. Applicable tax may be added at checkout. Plus purchases are sold by Stripe through Link. The card statement may show LINK.COM* LIVDUB.COM, and receipts may come from Link. You authorize Stripe to charge the disclosed amount. Bank fees or card issuer charges are your responsibility.
Refunds are available if requested within seven days after purchase and Plus usage is below 90 minutes. A refund returns the payment and does not by itself end Plus; access follows the Stripe subscription. This policy does not limit non-waivable rights under applicable law. See the Refund Policy for operational details.
You may incur charges from Google or other providers for Gemini API usage under your own key. Those charges are solely between you and the provider. To avoid Google charges, create and use a Gemini API key from a Google Cloud or Google AI project that is on Google's free tier. Free-tier availability, quotas, and eligibility depend on Google's terms, your region, and Google's policies, and may change over time. Livdub does not bill for usage under your key and does not control Google's pricing.
9. Third-Party Services
livdub relies on third-party services, including our hosting provider, Stripe for Plus billing, Google Analytics on the marketing website, and Google Gemini for live translation when you use your own API key. Your use of those features may also be subject to third-party terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control. Google Analytics applies to the website only; it does not receive tab audio or your Gemini API key.
10. AI and Translation Output
Dubbed audio and translations may be inaccurate, incomplete, delayed, unavailable, or unsuitable for a particular purpose. Outputs may not preserve tone, meaning, speaker intent, or context. You are responsible for reviewing outputs before relying on them.
11. Intellectual Property
livdub, including our software, interfaces, branding, design, and documentation, is owned by livdub or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you ownership of livdub or any third-party content.
12. Copyright Complaints
livdub does not host a user media library or shared replay of arbitrary-site audio. If you believe material on our website (for example marketing copy or images) infringes your copyright, contact legal@livdub.com with enough information to identify the work, the allegedly infringing material, your contact information, and a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is unauthorized. We may remove or disable access to website material in appropriate circumstances. Questions about third-party tab audio you choose to dub are primarily between you and the rights holders for that material.
13. Suspension and Termination
You may stop using livdub at any time by uninstalling the extension and stopping use of the website. We may suspend, limit, or terminate access to website or API features if you violate these Terms, create risk for the service or others, fail payment, exceed concurrency or device rules, or use livdub in a way that may expose us or others to legal or security risk. Disputes and chargebacks revoke Plus immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
14. Disclaimers
livdub is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, availability, security, accuracy, and uninterrupted operation.
15. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, livdub and its affiliates, officers, employees, contractors, licensors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, loss of goodwill, or business interruption, even if we were advised that such damages were possible.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for all claims relating to the service will not exceed 100 US dollars.
16. Indemnity
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless livdub and its affiliates, officers, employees, contractors, and service providers from and against claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising from tab content you choose to dub, your use of livdub, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of law or third-party rights.
17. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by applicable United States federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
Before filing a claim, you and livdub agree to try to resolve the dispute informally by emailing legal@livdub.com. If the dispute is not resolved within 60 days, either party may pursue available remedies under applicable United States federal law.
18. Notices
For Plus, we may send account, billing, and security notices to the verified Google email from noreply@livdub.com, with replies going to support@livdub.com. Stripe or Link may separately email receipts and refund confirmations. Free has no Livdub email; posting on the website remains the notice channel for Free and for everyone when we are not required to do more. Access, billing, and device changes still apply if a message is delayed, filtered, or not sent.
